    • Major strengths:
      ability to mediate international contacts between English- and Portuguese-speaking individuals and groups, allowing bilingual communication at a natural conversation speed (even when not using translation support equipment), while also providing a cultural interface to facilitate multinational group integration and cooperation. Precise and prompt use of terminology in a wide range of areas, such as Business, Education, Philosophy, the Social Sciences, Politics, Law, Quality Standards, Environment,  Information Technology, Telecommunications, the Oil Industry, Mining and Steel Making. Full command of style both in translating and creating texts in either Portuguese or English.
    • Significant achievements:
      Established linguistic mediation during months of debates accompanying the process of privatization and deregulation of  the Minas Gerais telecom, water and power utilities. That was extended to similar discussions on Public Health Reform, during lectures delivered by Margaret Thatcher’s Cabinet Advisors Karen Kaines and Kate Jenkins. For several years now has mediated meetings between World Bank Consultants, such as Dr. Michael Moore, and local State Officials, in connection with statewide educational programs. Personal interpreter for other illustrious visitors such as Alvin Toffler, John Naisbitt (author of ‘Megatrends’), US Secretary of Commerce Mr. William Daley, Shavid Burki (Vice-President of the World Bank for Latin America and the Caribbean), Blanton Godfrey (Chairman of the Juran Institute) and many others. In partnership with JPD Training (UK) and Proenco (Rio), has helped deliver quarterly one-week seminars on Environmental Audit to such prestigious clients as Petrobrás, Usiminas, Mannesmann, UERJ and many others. Translated for several Visiting Professors teaching classes and seminars at Master’s and PhD levels in areas such as Sociology, Philosophy and History. Written translations have included regular publications by universities, foundations and government departments.
