IMF Institute Distance Learning Program Development of a Detailed Project Proposal and Budget
In August 1997 Knight, Moore Telematics for Education and Development, operating as a division of
Communications Development Incorporated (CDI), won a contract to prepare a detailed project proposal and budget for the
IMF Institute, the external training arm of the International Monetary Fund. The objective of the
project was to advise the IMF on proper use of technology for training purposes; organization of distance learning courses; conversion of existing training material to make it suitable for distance learning, and technical implementation of a distance learning project, including a budget. The work
was accomplished in three stages, beginning on 15 August 1997, with a final report being delivered
in December 1997. Michael G. Moore
led a project team which included Peter T. Knight (Macroeconomic and Technology Advisor), Bruce Ross-Larson of CDI (Editor and Writer), Andrea M. Hodson, CDI (Project Manager), and Frederick G. Lockwood (Instructional Designer and Developer) of British Open University. A
second phase study for a Financial Programming course was delivered in
April 1998 by Moore, Knight, and Hodson operating through CDI.
Subsequently Moore worked with an IMF project team and external
contractors to prepare the course which is being delivered for the first
time during the winter of 2000. |
